Speech and Language Therapy Services in Coventry
The Community Speech & Language Therapy Team
If your child has been referred to speech and language therapy they will be seen in a clinic in your community. Children always attend their appointments with their parents/carers or key worker.
We see children that have difficulties in one or more of the areas listed below:-
- Comprehension: understanding words and sentences
- Expression: using vocabulary and using sentences
- Speech: talking clearly and using a range of sounds
- Voice: the way your voice sounds
- Stammering: talking smoothly
The therapist will asses, advise and recommend what the next step will be.
You will usually be seen for the first appointment within 3 months of your child being referred.
You will need to opt-into and ring us for an appointment when you receive a letter. If you do not attend the appointment, we will have to discharge your child from our service.
Coventry & PCT does not provide a service in Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 for language difficulties within the Community Team.
