[ 19 Nov 2009]

Set out some items from your kitchen cupboards, for example, saucepans, baking tins, plastic, boxes, plastic bowls. Give your child a wooden spoon and show her how to make sounds. Allow her to experiment with sounds and rhythms.

Offer her a metal spoon or pastry brush to encourage her to make more sounds.

This activity can be noisy so it is helpful to have a STOP signal!  This could be a handsign or a picture signal. Encourage her to stop when you use the signal.
