1. Take time to talk every day

Talking can fit easily into your daily routine. Talk about the things you see when you're on the bus, walking to the shops, at the supermarket or during bath time. You could sing or recite a nursery rhyme to your baby when changing their nappy, or read a book together.

The Bookstart Book Crawl

  • First visit the child is given Book Crawl Collectors Card
    Book Crawl Sticker for Collectors Card, strip of fun stickers
    and takes out books from library
  • Second visit the child returns books and receives another  Book Crawl sticker for their collector card, rhymetime sheet (there are different types but each child will receive one sheet)and takes out new books from library
  • Third visit the child returns books and receives
    Final   Book Crawl sticker for collectors card
    Bookstart Height Chart
    and takes out new books from library
  • Fourth visit Child returns books and receives
    Bookstart Book Crawl certificate
    A mark-making book and crayons (limited until stocks last!).  Please note: crayons are for babies over 12 months.
